I love to devwatch people - a lot. I even take time to scrutinize or peruse any sort of artwork/literature submitted by those I've devwatched, even if it's not up to par with their previous submissions.
Also, like any other sane/non-page-whoring stalke.. err.. watcher out there, I try to abstain from watching too many artists and only keep a close eye on those I think are worth my time. However, I abstain myself from leaving too many comments - why? Because I think it's stupid.
No, I'm not saying it's stupid to have a brilliant artwork flooded by professions of adoration or awe by those that are genuinely mesmerized. An artist needs to know appreciation tails his hardwork.
It's also not stupid to offer constructive criticism to those that are potentially gifted, or art veterans even, and leave them room for furtherance in their chosen field.
Rather, it's stupid to leave a half-assed, ambiguous and self-promoting comment on the pages of OTHER PEOPLE'S ART.
Too often do I see superfluous comments that are repetitive and irking. Half are redundant, half are pseudo-intellectual (If you're not that savvy with art, don't try. Makes you sound more like a dumbass) and all of 'em gets you grabbing the nearest hoe and stabbing your sister repeatedly with it. (Rest in peace, Azrin... rest in peace...)
Numerous popular deviants out there have their pages saturated with such deep-rooted bullshit I wonder how they maintain composure. Well, sometimes they don't... but that's another story. (A good story with a good ending...

)
Because of their respectively unique art with creases of expertise embellishing and further augmenting each deviants' artwork, leaving remnants of originality and personal style (This would be an example of a pretentious, pseudo-intellectual sentence, yep. Please go kill yourself), particularly in Anime-esque art, they are watched by rabid fangirls/fanboys out there who simply go "OMG SO AWESOME LOL +FAV!!!!!" to every fucking submission that remotely resembles Naruto. Or Bleach.
These fuckta... err... ignorant people then proceed to comment with the one language they know best and have completely mastered - A language that consists or random capitalizations, an overuse of exclamation marks and of course, an influx of emoticons. Emoticons, I say. Not your mundane smilies. Smilies are for uncool people. (Why use

if you can do =^.~= or xDDDDDdddd? Why

and not :<<<<<?)
Now, the pseudo-intellects;
"Hmm... the character's features denote melancholy... I can see it etched on his creased lips and sage eyes... You did a good job." (Step 1; compliment)
"However, it would be better if a fusion of emotions were included, like... despondence with a slight trace of euphoria - that would be beautiful."
(Step 2; Bullshit like HELL)
"But yeah, it's a great piece. Hehe" (Step 3; Giggle, try to negate any notion that includes you being a wise-ass and voila! You have now impressed them with your ub3r l337 knowledge in art.)
Of course, there are a lot of other to whine about. But I'm not going to waste my time or further deteriorate my IQ by contemplating on them.
Anyway, the point of writing this journal was simple; Since I have now quite a number of artists under my watch, I would like to apologise to all for hardly giving comments. I'm sorry if to any of you, a void in response and feedback is equivalent to contempt or nonchalance towards your art. That's not the case. Even when I regard a submission as breathtaking, the most I would do is fav it or use it as my wallpaper. When it comes to commenting, the urge is died down by the first five "OMG

~~~~ BeAuIiFUlL!!!11! Pls chEck mY GalLLEryyyy
~~~~~~~~~~"
I hope you understand my frustration. Once again, sorry for the lack of feedbacks and continue doing what you people do best - become talented, aspiring artists, daily battling a sea of psychopaths.
Note; I would only have an incentive to comment if, and only if, these deviants mass-murdered said idiots. Won't we all be happy...
